Texas Treehouse Elopements

Imagine this… Your suspended feet dangle in the air and the only way to get to the ground is by wooden planks that you entrust your life to. Treehouse elopements and intimate weddings aren’t for the faint of heart. Your inner 5-year-old self gets giddy with excitement at the idea of being able to have your wedding up in a tree.

You arrive at your treehouse and find that it’s secluded –  you and your partner will have total privacy. Your makeup and hair artists arrive to start your day as your dress is hanging in the tree, while we photograph the details of your epic story.

There is nothing around except nature… and the butterflies you have in your stomach. As you promise your life to your partner by reading vows with a sheer drop underneath both your feet, you suddenly see the intimate marquee hanging lights come on. After you cry all that expensive makeup off, you and your partner get to fully experience what a true treehouse adventure is like!

There are places where you can actually play up in the trees and end the night with a celebration, Texas-style.

There is no right or wrong way to get married in a treehouse and we have ALL the hookups.

Okay, so we’re adults now (or so we’re told), but don’t pretend for even a second that the idea of getting married in a treehouse doesn’t get your inner child all riled up, chanting, “Can we, can we, can weeee?”

Hill Country has the perfect places for your elopement or small, intimate treehouse wedding right here in Texas!

Cypress Valley Treehouse | Spicewood, Texas

Cypress Valley is nestled in a quiet wooded area just 45 minutes from Austin. Ancient, 500-year-old cypress trees envelope handcrafted treehouses in a serene, near-otherworldly glamping escape. Cypress Valley has everything you need to make your elopement or wedding an enchanted experience. They can accommodate up to 125 guests and lodging for up to 30. Their beautiful suspended ceremony platform, cliffside amphitheater, creek-side pavilion, and staging kitchen are made available for you, as well as tables and chairs. Unique experiences such as their zip-line canopy tours, seasonal lake, and pool access make this your ultimate adventure wedding getaway.

Treehouse Utopia | Utopia, Texas

Treehouse Utopia is run (and built) by Pete Nelson, host of Animal Planet’s Treehouse Masters, and Laurel Waters, chef and owner of The Laurel Tree in Utopia, Texas. This is the perfect place to kick-off your honeymoon after an adventure elopement at nearby Garner State Park, just 20 minutes away. Hike through the lush greenery and say your vows atop Ol’ Baldy with a breathtaking view that spans for miles. Afterward, plan for dinner at The Laurel Tree (reservations are a must), a BYOB restaurant with a menu inspired by her Texan roots and French cuisine, where she was formally trained as a chef. Every ingredient is either grown on the property or locally and she hand-picks everything. Utopia makes for an enchanted getaway for those who long for that “just us” experience.

HoneyTree Farm | Fredericksburg, Texas

HoneyTree Farm sits on 10 acres overlooking Palo Alto Creek. Just 8 minutes from Fredericksburg’s Main Street, there is plenty to experience, especially all decked out in your wedding attire. With five treehouses to choose from, they can accommodate up to 10 guests. These unique architectural masterpieces look straight out of an HGTV show. Modern and cozy, no comfort was spared. While they don’t allow additional guests or parties at the treehouse, Fredericksburg has a plethora of venues to host your ceremony. Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is a great option and has trails perfect for everyone from advanced rock climbers to Grandpa Joe and his walker (might need to get him new tennis balls, though). They have a great pavilion with its own private parking lot, outdoor kitchen, and tons of tables for a reception afterward.

River Road Treehouses | New Braunfels, Texas

River Road Cabins overlook the Guadalupe River and they have a private river park directly across the street for guest use. They can sleep up to 8, but have a pair of cabins that share a connected deck in the middle, perfect for larger groups. They don’t host weddings onsite but are the perfect retreat to celebrate with your closest friends and family before or after the wedding. Gruene (pronounced “green”), New Braunfels’ must-visit historic district, is only 12 miles away and features Gruene Hall- the oldest dance hall still operating in Texas, YEE-HAW Y’ALL. You can find everything you need to host a fun and exciting, intimate wedding in New Braunfels. Gruene Estate is a popular wedding venue with a charming, rustic feel. Its covered, open-air chapel hosts up to 250 guests.

Hobbit’s Nest Treehouse | Paige, Texas

This hobbit hole in the sky rests atop the trees of the Lost Pines Forest, overlooking a small pond filled with frogs and lily pads. It can accommodate up to 4 guests and even Fido is welcome to stay. Guests enjoy walking the shaded trails on the 42-acre property and observing wildlife with the best Texas sunsets right on the balcony (can you imagine this view for your reception or ceremony?!). Nearby Bastrop State Park and Red Ridge Receptions are great options to host your ceremony with as few or as many (up to 150) guests as you like. The Hobbit’s Nest is the ultimate escape for the couple who wants to slow down and enjoy the steady pace of a small town with the love of their life.
