What Eloping in Texas With Me Actually Looks Like

You are not scared of marrying each other. You are scared of the day becoming a production. Of posing like mannequins for a stranger. Of a timeline built around everyone except the two of you. Of your actual personalities getting lost somewhere between the ceremony arch and the seating chart.

Fair. I have watched that exact wedding happen for twenty years. Here is what I built instead.

It Starts Like Talking to an Old Friend

The first consult is thirty minutes and zero sales weirdness. Couples keep using the same phrase about it, unprompted: “From the first conversation with Brit it felt like I was talking to an old friend.” That is Laura. “The minute we met it felt like we were long lost friends.” That is Kayla. I dig into who you two actually are, what you dream about, and what your budget really covers, which is usually more than you think.

Then Everything Comes Off Your Plate

The marriage license timing. The park permits, which are different at every single location in Texas. The timeline built around light instead of tradition. Where to stay, where to eat, what to pack. You get one job: show up and marry your person.

Five Versions of Your Day, Planned Before You Pack

Texas weather does not care about your wedding date, so I plan like it. The weather version, the crowd version, the closure version, the light version, and the dream version we are all rooting for. I check roads and conditions every wedding morning before we ever leave, and you only find out a backup existed if we needed it, calmly, with the new plan already running.

Do not take my word for it. “A few days before our wedding, Palo Duro Canyon was hit with heavy rain, so Brit contacted us with plan A, B, and C depending on the conditions.” And Laura again: “Even with having to go from Plan A, to Plan B, to Plan C due to the weather, Brit was there guiding us and calming our nerves.” And Jordan: “Our wedding day was fraught with bad luck (storms, trail closures, us sending the wrong directions to the house – oops), and she managed to make the whole thing exceed expectations.”

Why One-on-One Time Is a Non-Negotiable for Me

I lost my Mema years ago, and then my Papa on the exact anniversary of her passing. I would give anything for some honest, unposed, raw photos of just me and my grandparents. Not the forced sit-and-smile kind, but the real kind that remember who they actually were and who we were together.

Talking about loss might seem out of place on a page about the happiest day of your life, but life is a beautiful tapestry like that, y’all. The wonderful interwoven with the heartbreaking. So on your day, I always create time and space for the real moments with your favorite people. Dad telling his daughter how proud he is while blubbering like a baby. Nana handing over the bracelet your grandfather gave her on their own wedding day. Mom looking at you and wondering how time could be such a thief. You will have those photos for as long as you live, and your kids after you, and theirs after them. These relationships matter. That is not a style choice, it is the whole reason I shoot the way I do.

How It Works, Start to Finish

You inquire and hear back from me within a day on weekdays, with galleries, guides, and exactly what to expect. You book, I get to know you two through my questionnaire, and the planning starts: your custom location list, vendor recommendations, and rentals if you need them. I stay in touch with every need-to-know detail right up to the day. Then the day arrives and your only job is to exist in it. Feel it. Live it. Be fully immersed in it. I am the guide you can trust completely while you soak it all in.

Want the Full Surprise?

Some couples hand me the entire day and let me surprise them with every location, every food stop, every excursion. They just show up and get married while the day unwraps itself one stop at a time. If trusting the itinerary to someone who knows Texas like her own kitchen sounds like freedom, this option is the whole point of me.

And Yes, I Can Legally Marry You

I am ordained. If your dream day is the two of you and nobody else, I can officiate AND shoot it. The wedding can literally be you two and me and a canyon.

The Day Itself

Sunrise first looks before the world wakes up. An adventure in the middle: hiking, kayaking, a jeep into the canyon, marshmallows over a fire pit, whatever sounds like you. Golden hour portraits because you can. And the whole time, you are laughing. “I can 97% guarantee you a six pack from laughing so hard with me. Maybe a four pack. Maybe one.”

Tell me the day you are picturing. Let us build all five versions of it.
